Alpe d'Huez Triathlon - Short (01 Aug 2015)
Not the best year to do this one as the sky was overcast with intermittent rain. But a terrific experience nonetheless. The lake is at 700m so always cool, this year 15 degrees for the 1200m loop. The star of the show is the 30km bike ride which includes all 21 hairpin bends of the great mountain pass. And the off road 7km run was undulating and fun. And a great atmosphere from the 1200 internationally drawn participants.

Alpe d'Huez Triathlon - Short (29 Jul 2016)
Very warm and for the first time the swim in the mountain lake of Verney at 17 degrees was wetsuit optional. The joy of the swim was offset by the challenge of tackling the climb of Alpe d'Huez in such warm weather. The event was enlivened by the presence of Olympic triathletes training for Rio - Andrea Hewitt won the Womens' race
