Great South Run 10M (10 Oct 2004)

A chilly blustery morning, eased up slightly for the start with near ideal race temperatures and a fast start. It was good to be able to stand toe to toe with the elites at the start of a mass event. The flat course allowed very fast early splits although the positioning of the mile markers was extremely dubious. The wind made things harder from miles 6 to 8 gusting directly in your face but with the turnaround back along the seafront at about 8.5 miles
made for a nice push for the finish.
