Competitions Update July 2026 - Serpentine Running and Triathlon Club

Congratulations to all of our members who raced in the first two club championship races of the year and thank you to the volunteers that made the handicap event happen.

In the club championship Handicap race, the Male and overall winner was Martin Maloney with overall runner up and women’s winner being Emma Danks. The Age Graded award went to Nicholas Browne. Full results here.

The club championship 5K race was held in conjunction with the Sri Chinmoy 5K event in Battersea park on a very hot evening. The Female winner was Natasha Sheel in 19:04, and the Male winner was Fred Smithers who took the overall race win in 15:34. The Age Graded winner was Nicholas Browne in 16:17 for a AG% of 84.6%. Soar Race Vest order

We would like to put in an order by 9 July for delivery in October. Cost is about £70 each. Please register your interest on this page: https://www.serpentine.org.uk/events/soar-club-singlet-register-your-interest/

We need a minimum of 20men and 15women orders. Payment will be gathered once those minimums are met. Currently we have 17 men’s orders and 18 women’s orders so reach out to your club mates and encourage them to upgrade their kit!

18 July (Sat) – Serpentine 1K – Club Champs – confirm attendance

28 July (Tue) – Serpentine Mile – Club Champs – confirm attendance

October (TBC) – Middlesex 10k Champs – Victoria Park (entry required)

18 October (Sun) – Cabbage Patch 10M – Twickenham (Sold out – The race does allow race transfers so keep an eye out for Serpentine members offloading their entry or people on the Cabbage Patch 10M Facebook page looking to offload their entries.)

All Year – Half and Full Marathon championships – any certified half or full marathon – results must be on the club site

September Road Relays

SEAA 6/4/3 Road Relay Races ~6k legs

Sat 26 Sept – Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot

We will be trying to create “A” teams for each grade and then evenly matched additional teams:
6 runners – SM
4 runners – SW / M40-49 / M50-59 / M60+
3 runners – W40-49, W50+

Middlesex 3x3k Road Relays

Sun 13 Sept – Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, Minet Country Park, Springfield Road, Hayes, UB4 OLP

We will be trying to create “A” teams for each grade and then evenly matched additional teams:
3 runners – SM / SW / M40+ / W40+

Eligibility: Birth / 9 months continuous bona fide residence in the County of Middlesex
immediately prior to the date of the competition (North of the River) / not competed for another County championship in the previous year
