Running Kit
We are pleased to be partnering with Scimitar, to offer you a modern web-enabled kit order and delivery service. Our new range is of a higher quality than our previous kit and is produced from recycled materials. At the moment we are only able to offer vests and t-shirts, but we hope to increase our product range over time as we gauge demand.
Please remember it is mandatory to wear Serpentine kit to participate in club events such as the Handicap, Club Championship races, Cross Country competitions and Summer League. This can either be a club vest, T-shirt (short or long-sleeved) or a crop top. The only exception to this rule is for the marathon where many people have to wear charity kit.
We hope that you’ll also chose to wear Serpentine kit when taking part in other races. This kit – its style, colours and the portrayal of our two distinctive gold hoops – is officially recognised by UK Athletics and will ensure you and/or your team are eligible to represent the club in that race. Wearing club kit is also a great way to be recognised by and meet fellow Serpentines, especially if you’re travelling further afield to take part in a race.
Triathlon kit
We have partnered with Gobik to offer high quality cycling jerseys, gilets, bib shorts and tri suits. Those tend to be made to order and we organise 2 orders per year, one for summer kits and one for winter kits. From time to time we also have some spare kit, available immediately.
Special note about racing in eligible kit
We urge you to wear a club running vest, crop-top or t-shirt (short or long sleeves) for running races. This kit – the style it’s in, the colours and the portrayal of our two distinctive gold hoops – is officially recognised by UK Athletics and will ensure you and/or your team are eligible to represent the club in that race.
Please note the inverse running tops are not official kit and will not be recognised as so by UK Athletics. These are for visibility on training runs although we will allow them as kit for the Saturday handicap.
We also encourage you to race in Serpentine kit in triathlon and multi-sports races. You are normally able to compete in tri competitions in the clothing of your choice providing it meets the rules (see rule 22 of the British Triathlon rule book). Note: our running crop-top no longer meets the rules as it is too small (short). BTF are not as particular as UK Athletics about what you wear to represent your club.
Do note, however, that the rules for our own Club Championships are very clear – club kit must be worn in Club Championship races in order to be eligible for Club Championships. The only exception to this rule is for the marathon where many people have to wear charity kit.
