Serpentine Summer Multisport League and Championship results 2024
A number of us met at the Riverside pub in Vauxhall for the Triathlon and Multisport end of season social and it was great to see so many faces.
We’ve had quite a long race season starting from the Crystal Palace Sprint tri back in May where 21 Serpies went head to head to find out who was claimed the Sprint champion all the way through to Vieux Boucau in October where 13 Serpies were trying to get the last Middle distance champs entries into the standings.
Before we get onto the results it is worth mentioning we had a number of people Age Group racing this year over the many disciplines so apologies if I’ve missed anyone but congratulations to Brett Osler, Gavin Hill, Hilary Briggs, Innes Wright, Oliver Louis, Owen Barder, Ruth Gledhill and Sarah Mack. You will be joined by Isis Cuirleo for next year.
Well done to Marco Viappiani for sub 9 hours on an Ironman. Just to remind you of the distances an Ironman is a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42km run so that is speedy by all accounts and well done on qualifying for another trip to Kona for the Ironman championships.
We’ve had a number of first timers to aquathlons, triathlons and middle distance races but too many to mention here but congratulations to you all.
Additional well done for everyone that got PBs, again too many to mention here.
So worth mentioning, to be crowned as Club champion at one of the Championship races, you have to be wearing Serpie kit.
