Report

This was the first running of the Lac de Salagou triathlon festival by the Montpellier triathlon club encompassing all distances from beginners to half ironman. Weather was sunny 28 degrees.

The Olympic distance event was sold out with 332 athletes. It started at 5.30pm to avoid the heat of the sun with one loop in the lake where the water temperature was 19.5 degrees. The 40km bike ride was up into the hills for one loop with an elevation gain of 700m. The one loop run alongside the lake also had some testing climbs with an elevation gain of 170m.

A great atmosphere for a great event.
