Report

This was a point-to-point half-marathon, however both start and finish were in Lichfield. The course was slightly undulating, although I had cycled the majority of the course the previous day, so I knew what to expect. Weather conditions were good; a good temperature and the wind of the previous day had dropped notably.

The event was well organised, with the usual finishing goody-bag. The start was unusually cramped on a bend, but this was not really an issue. The course also crossed a manned train crossing, however, it appears trains hardly ran on the Sunday on the line – but slightly unusual!

I realise it is a trek for many Serpies, I think there may have been one other Serpie running and there was support near the finish. There was also considerable local turnout on the whole of the course.

The second Lichfield Half-Marathon is scheduled for 06 May 2012.
