Report

Claims to be 'The most beautiful marathon course in the world' it certainly is hard to imagine better for mountain views and wonderful alpine running. A tough profile with 25k of nearly flat running starting in Interlaken before you climb, and climb and climb! From 30k the distance markers are every 400m. Finish at the side of the North face of the Eiger is spectacular. Great atmosphere (cow bells and cheering throughout the tiny villages) and typically efficient Swiss organisation (almost too many drinks stations - it's so well supported). Fills up early - 5,000 entrants max - and the third race in the 2010 Mountain Marathon Cup, well worth the trip.

Huw was 3rd in a good field.
