Report
Three Serpies made their second trip of 2010 to Roundhay Park in Leeds (the first being for the National XC Championships) to have a go at the 2nd Leeds Triathlon.
The race starts with a one-lap swim in the lake, at a slightly cool 16deg; followed by an extremely undulating bike leg on a mix of roads to the north of Leeds; then a three lap run in the park, including the infamous 'Hill60' which we all remembered from February's XC.
It was the bike leg that made this a tough race. Apart from a single 2-3km section of A road, there was nowhere to get any rythm or speed as the roads were twisty, with steep little climbs and descents, and many T-junctions where you had to come to a stop, or near enough. Hill60 on the run suddenly wasn't so bad after the cycling.
Congratulations for Poppy, who in her first Olympic distance tri, beat both both of the fellas.
