Report

The race set off at 9am and it was already very hot.
There was a BUCS wave (about 65 participants) and an open wave (about
80 participants). The swim was held in Manvers lake, two loops.
The run from the lake to the transition area was uphill and getting
out of the lake was quite hard (slippy, steep incline). The bike
course was undulating and four loops of quiet Yorkshire roads, good
marshalling. Run was two loops of an undulating off road track, around
the lake area, often surrounded by trees and bushes, so quite
pleasant. However at this stage it was already hitting 30 degrees, and
some of the elite triathletes dropped out of the race.
