Report
Having run for nearly 10 years I made my triathlon debut with this sprint in the south of France. It draws a big field of 350 athletes from all over France, many of whom combine it with a few days at the Mediterranean beaches. It starts at 3pm with a walk along the banks of the Aude river and then a 750m swim back down, with a pleasant water temperature of 20 degrees. The bike section is one undulating loop around the garrigues (scrubland) followed by a 2x 2.5km loop run in the warm sunshine. Every participant gets a t-shirt and a bottle of wine, like all the races around here, and the event finishes with a (free) dinner in the open with unlimited wine - not bad for an entry fee of €20 for a licenced triathlete.
