Four Serpies braved the cold, wet and very muddy conditions on a tougher than usual 50km circular route from Edenbridge through the beautiful Kent countryside.

Myself, Mark Braley, James Adams and Helen Usborne completed the 50km in 6 hours 46 (or in my case 47) minutes.

All competitors performed admirably with special recognition going to Mark for his commendable performance as the main navigator and Helen who was running her first ultra marathon coming in (we believe at the time of writing) first woman home on the 50k course!

The next Gatliff Marathon is to be held on Sunday 29th November 2009.
