Report
This is one of the races to celebrate the arrival of the year's wine harvest from a region in France. There are several based on this idea and it's an excellent one. So the race has wine at the start, at all the water stations and at the end. Maybe not ideal for a PB, but it adds to a very fun atmosphere with plenty of food to wash down the wine. It also helps that there's a prize for the best costume so many runners dress up to add to the fun of the occasion.
It's not the fastest course but is scenic and goes through the vineyards of the Beaujolais region. I particularly liked the routes through wineries, including into a cellar with the wine barrels and glasses (not plastic cups) of wine on tables.
