Report

On Sunday was the Route du Vin half marathon in Luxembourg, in the town of Remich, next to the German border, separated by the Moselle river, and 10km away from the French border.

The race was flat all the way, on a road with the river on one side, and the vineyards on the other side. It was 10.5 km out of the town of Remich, before turning round and coming back to finish in Remich.

It was perfect weather, blue sky all day, no humidity, and not very hot, with fresh air. There were 1,679 finishers.

It's a brilliantly organised race, the finishing prize is a bottle of Crémant bubbly wine, as opposed to the usual mug or T-shirt. And at the finish were crowds cheering everyone in, plus the traditional big fat hot dogs with loadsa mustard and ketchup that the Luxembourgers do so well, along with servings of Bofferding beer
