Stoke Newington 5k: 7 May 2006
Dry but not too hot.
Race staged to raise funds for the annual StokeFest. Consisted of 5k over paving in Clissold Park, off Stoke Newington Church Street. Weather dry but not too hot. Generally flat course, but paths relatively narrow and some obstructions (steel bollards) made for cramped conditions at times, not helped by some runners pushing baby-buggies. However, good atomsphere and possibility of good times if you start at the front. Childrens race (1k fun run) had 30 kids. Main race had 419 runners - first man 16:05, first woman 20:24.
