Last Friday 5k Progressive Course Records
The race has always followed the same basic route. However, in 1998 the creation of a much improved Lido area meant that for safety reasons the course had to be changed to take it away from the path in front of the cafe On 17th June, 1998 the present course was measured by Hugh Jones, who certified it as accurate to UK Athletics and RRC standards. The records begin from 29 January 1999, which is the first set of results in the database. On 5th July, 2002 Hugh Jones re-measured and confirmed the accuracy of the course. In June 2004 the course was again changed after objections to registration taking place at the Lido Cafe and the new route was duly certified by Hugh Jones.
