Qualification and scoring
To qualify for this championship:
- You must be a first claim Serpie in the appropriate discipline for each of the races.
- you must complete at least five of the qualifying races.
- you must score in at least four of the categories.
- you must wear club colours for the running sections of each race (except the marathon) and are encouraged to wear them for cycling and/or swimming as well, if possible.
- only your best five results count.
Other than that, the choice of which races you do is completely your own.
Points are scored for each race based on the fastest (male/female) Serpie's time expressed as a percentage of your time i.e. if the winning Serpie has a time of 100mins and your time is 125mins then the winner scores 100 and you score 80. For the decathlon competition, the scores will be used to calculate the multi-sport points.
The Championship will be awarded to the male and female members with the highest total of points from their best five qualifying races.

After each qualifying race the results will be calculated from the results database and published here.
