Triathlon London League

The Triathlon London League started in 2006. It is a series of races each season — duathlons, aquathlons and triathlons — organised by clubs in the London area. At each race points can be gained by club members towards a team total in each race, then points gained by each team (club) in each race are used to determine the club position in the league.

Devil at the Jekyll and Hyde Park duathlonAll London clubs are automatically entered into the league and teams do not have to be registered in advance. All you need to do is enter the race(s) as normal and the best placed men, women and vets from Serpentine make up our team in each race. Please wear club kit if possible so that you know who your team-mates are and so other clubs can see who we are. We would like to have a good Serpie team competing in every race.

Results & League Table

The league table and further information can be found on the Triathlon London website.

How does Serpentine score League points?

There are three team competitions: male, female and mixed teams.

Male

The first three triathletes from each club to finish count for a maximum score. Two scoring triathletes will also count but the team won't be able to score maximum points. Teams with three finishers will be ranked in order then the teams with two finishers will then be ranked below the teams of three scorers.

Female

The first three triathletes from each club to finish count for a maximum score. Two scoring triathletes will also count but the team won't be able to score maximum points. Teams with three finishers will be ranked in order then the teams with two finishers will then be ranked below the teams of three scorers.

Mixed

The first three male and first three females to finish count. Note that you can count for both the mixed team and the single gender team. Teams with less than six triathletes (3 males and 3 females) do not score.

Age group competition

Continuing in 2015 is the age group competition. This is across all age groups as defined by Triathlon England i.e. 25-29, 30-34 year etc. (age on 31st December 2014). Triathletes in each age group will score points with the same scoring system as the team competitions. The race winner picks up 100 points, 2nd placed athlete 99 points, etc. for the whole race.

Mob Match

Alongside the League there will be a "Mob Match" prize for clubs with the highest participation in League events.

What is the scoring system?

  • For the League scores (male, female and mixed team competitions), the race winner picks up 1 point, 2nd placed athlete 2 points, etc for the whole race.
  • The winning team (with the lowest points) from each race is then awarded 100 points, 2nd place 99 points, 3rd place 98 points, etc in the league rankings for that race.
  • Mob match scored are based on total finishers for each club. The club with the highest number of finishers is awarded 100 points, 2nd highest 99 points etc. If you don't enter as Serpentine for your club then you won't score for the mob match so please put Serpentine as club when you enter any London League race.
