Southern Women's League
The Southern Women's League is the track and field club competition for women in the south of England. Until 2007, entry was only open for teams with juniors, but from 2007 entry and scoring also became possible for senior only teams. Serpentine have a team in senior division 2.
League Structure
Senior women & girls
- Premier division, 16 teams, 5 matches per year
- Division 1, 16 teams, 5 matches per year
- Division 2 north, south and west with around 10-12 teams each, 4 matches per year
Senior women
- Division 1, 16 teams, 5 matches per year
- Division 2, 16 teams, 5 matches per year
Meetings
Each match has four teams competing and meetings will be double matches wherever possible i.e. there should be 8 competitors in each event. Each fixture comprises a full track and field programme (sprints, hurdles, middle-distance, throws and jumps) so we need a good sized squad for our team. We are really keen to build a good women's track and field squad now that we can compete in the league as a senior only team.
If you are interested in participating, please email competition@serpentine.org.uk or contact the team captain, details below.
