5k Club Champs (Sri Chimnoy 5k) 2023 at Battersea ParkThe Serpentine Running Club was founded in 1982 by a group of runners who were training for the second London Marathon. Now, we have members of all standards and ages, and take part in road running, cross country, track & field, fell running, triathlons and other multi-sport events. We are based in the very centre of London, and we welcome many visitors to London, whether staying for a few days or a few years.

You may be a bit daunted about the thought of joining a running club if you have never been a member of one before. Don't be: we have members with a wide range of ability, age and commitment. Whatever your standard of fitness, you'll be more than welcome. You are bound to find someone in the club who is about the same standard as you. And if you are a complete beginner, we have a starter session on Saturdays, aimed at building confidence and providing company. Have a look at our Beginners' Guide to Running.

Our junior section is open to all 8-19 year-olds with a keen interest in athletics.  We provide competition opportunities.  Regardless of abilities and experience, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn is key.

The club is very cosmopolitan and social: many of our adult members will head to the pub after their run and we have some good parties. We also travel together to races at weekends, and sometimes for long weekends in the UK or Europe.

The best way to find out if you want to join us is to come along to a convenient club run. You don't have to join the club to come running with us for the first time: why not come along and see if you like it? The Running, Triathlon and Athletics sections of the website set out the details of our regular training sessions, coached and uncoached, with details and maps showing you how to get there. You can find out how to join the club here.
