Committee Roles – Race Organisation & Promotion
Overview
The role of the Race Organisation & Promotion representative on the Committee is to organise or oversee all club internal races and races open to other runners organised by the club.
Specific activities / jobs
- Last Friday of the Month (LFOTM) 5k
- Handicap
- NYD 10k
- Home matches (Cross-country, Track & Field, Summer League)
- Jekyll & Hyde Park Duathlon
- Grand Prix
- Serpie Decathlon
General duties and responsibilities
The role does not require the person to do the entire organisation as other people can be assigned to be Race Directors. However, the committee member should have an overview of all the races, so he/she can fill in when the organising person, for example the handicapper, is not available.
While the handicap is organised by the handicapper, the role of the Race Organisation & Promotion rep is to promote and organise the Club Championship races.
Currently the main job is the organisation of the New Years Day 10k, starting from getting the race licenses together, through getting the entry forms printed, to organising the race day itself.
