Experience and Achievements

Andrew is the Serpentine men's track and field captain (2008–10) racing 110mH, 400mH and 3000m S/C; captain of the men's SEAA 6 and 12 stage relay teams (2004–10); and races all distances including marathons, cross-country and triathlons (PBs: marathon – 2:41, 20 mile – 1:56, Half – 1:13, 5km – 15:45). He has won numerous races and awards over the years running for Serpentine including:

  • Berkhampsted Half Marathon (2006)
  • Welsh Castles winning team (2009, 2010)
  • Welsh Castles Drover Arms Stage 1st Vet (2009)
  • Green Belt Relay winning team (2005, 2010)
  • Serpentine Grand Prix (2004, 2007, 2010)
  • Serpentine Grand Prix - Age Graded (2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010)
  • Serpentine Multi-Sport Championship (2004, 2007, 2008)

Andrew has coached numerous Serpies towards their running goals especially marathon distance. In 2010 Andrew coached a corporate running club and helped many of them to their marathon PBs at Lausanne. You can view some of their testimonials here.

Interests and Activities

Andrew offers structured, personalised coaching and training advice for endurance runners of 5km and above, consisting of one-one coached runs; tailored running schedules; recovery and pre-race sports massages; as well as packages combining all three services. In the past year he has coached a number of Serpies to marathon PBs.

Involvement with Serpentine

Andrew helps out at the Hampstead Heath Hills session on Saturdays, as well as providing holiday/illness cover for the team at the Paddington Track session, when he leads the warm-ups (including dynamic stretching and plyometrics) and the cool-downs (including static stretching). He was captain of the men's track and field team from 2008–10 and is the current road relay team captain.
