T&F - Third SAL match - Call for Athletes and Officials

After two tough matches in April and May, out team is close to the top in the League and still fighting for a promotion: so now is the time to show our full strength in our home match. The next fixture of the season for the Southern Athletics League (SAL) is on Saturday 20th June in the Millenium Arena, Battersea Park.

Events where you can compete are:
TRACK
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m (men) or 3000m (women), 100/110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 2000m steeplechase (men) or 2000m steeplechase (women), 4 x 100m relay, 4 x 400m relay
FIELD
High jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot, discus, javelin, hammer

Two scorers are needed for each event and non-scorers are welcome. We also really want our U17 and U20 young athletes to compete as part of the team.

Email the team captains to sign up and info. Any standard is welcome: it is a very sociable event and you never know what you could be good at until you try it.

Officials and helpers needed or there's no match!

As this is our home match, we need to provide officials and helpers to organise the match: no previous experience needed and any contribution will be highly appreciated. Plus, you can contribute as well to our team's score, as helpers score points as well!

Helpers needed as follows:

  • Results team
  • Field officials and helpers
  • Track officials and timekeepers

Please get in contact with Steph Vaatz to sign up.

Future matches

Please also put these dates of future matches in your calendar:

  • 4th July - Watford (will feature the first women's 5k race)
  • 15th August - Newham

Thanks
Lisa & Nick.
