You are...

Coralie Frost, member since September 2015

What brought you to the club

I was running the Richmond Half Marathon in September 2015 and started chatting to a couple of Serpies who were around the same pace as me. After the race I signed straight up!

When you aren't running, you are...

Reading or watching documentaries. Although the books and the documentaries also seem to be about running, swimming or cycling.

The most challenging thing you have ever done

My first marathon. It was a step into the unknown and I had only started running just over a year beforehand. It was one of the most brilliant experiences of my life and being able to share it with my boyfriend who was pacing me was even more special.

Your favourite book or film

All the Harry Potter films, I get lost in the nostalgia of my childhood. Chrissie Wellington’s ‘A Life Without Limits’ has to be one of the best books I’ve ever read. Not only was it inspiring but it relaunched my love of swimming and cycling. And planted a seed that maybe an Ironman is possible one day...

If you could be an animal, you would want to be...

A giraffe so I could feel tall for once.

What you like best about the club

The people and the atmosphere. Even when injured/resting and volunteering in the bag room at a Wednesday club night you can learn something new about running from the conversations with other volunteers. I’ve chatted to triathletes, ultrarunners, track runners, and new runners - everyone has a story, tip or piece of advice they’re willing to share.

Most unusual race you have ever done

I’d probably say a muddy race back in Suffolk with my family - Mum, Dad, sister, cousins, Aunties - the lot! We all dressed up as superheroes and ran through a muddy field, over obstacles and waist deep in bogs.

Your top training tip

Nutrition is the fourth discipline. Get this right and your body can achieve so much more.

Your next big goal

The Lakesman

Something you have never told anyone else or that would surprise others

When I was 10 years old I arrived at a friend’s birthday party dressed up as an alien, only to realise when I got there that the fancy dress theme was cancelled… I decided to stay and join the party, and remain in the alien costume!

Coralie also happens to be one of the club's magical volunteers, working behind the scenes as one of our Twitter Fairies.
