Selected Serpentine performances from the weekend

The chill factor did not get in the way of some great results this weekend. This week's slightly shorter round-up includes the SEAA XC champs, the Osterley 10k and parkrun.

SEAA Cross Country Championships in Horspath, Oxford

Sam Ludlow Taylor had a great debut in the coveted Surrey vest at the Cross Country Inter County Championships on Saturday, coming 36th in a tightly packed field.

In the Southern Cross Country Masters Championships, that took place the same day at the same venue, Andy Reeves was 10th in the M45 category, while Peter Clarke narrowly missed out on a top 10 place with 11th in the M50 race. Other notable mentions also to Lan O'Connor (11th), Catharine Sowerby (15th) and Camilla Allwood (20th) in the W55 race. Well done to all who raced on a very cold day!

Osterley 10k

A small number of committed runners headed out to Osterley Park for the 10k. Kevin Murray led the way with an incredible 85.5% age grading for a 2nd place finish in 37:40. Congratulations Kevin! Alistair Gear and Valerie Metcalf also put in strong performances.

Parkrun

Simon Barrett was 1st overall in a time of 16:48 at Richmond parkrun. Milan Misak finished 6th in 17:23 at Fulham Palace James Gillanders came 2nd in 17:46 at Hampstead Heath. William Lake was 4th in 18:25 in St Albans. Helen Gray was 1st female and 15th overall in 18:35 in Mile End, with Lauren Roe 2nd female and 10th overall in 19:42 in Belton House.

For other great Serpie performances, please check the full consolidated Serpentine results. If your name is missing, please update your parkrun profile with Serpentine RC as your club. Well done all!

Please get involved

I would like to make the weekly round-up as inclusive and varied as possible. If you would like to see your or a fellow club member's achievement featured, it'd be great to hear from you. Simply drop me an email with a few words about the event and, if you have them, photos or videos (please ask for permission if someone else took the photo or video!). I will do my best to include reports received by end of Monday in the weekly round-up that I usually publish on Tuesdays.

Last not least: Thank you to Siobhan Wakely, without whom this week's round-up wouldn't have got published! Photo credit: Ian Johnson

Have a good week,
