Club Championship 5k, Thursday, 16 July at 7.30pm

The final race of this year's Summer Grand Prix Series will be the 5k. It will take place this coming Thursday, 16 July, in Battersea Park

The race will start at 7.30pm.  egistration will open at approximately 6.30pm outside the Millennium Track and will close at 7.15pm, promptly.

It’s been an excellent Grand Prix Series so far with lots of participation and I hope the same will be true for the 5k. The race isn’t just for the club’s faster runners; it’s open to everyone. It’s your chance to pit yourself against the people you run with week in, week out, in our ordinary club runs. With hundreds of you taking part in Parkruns all over London every Saturday, I would like to think that there will be a big turnout for our own club race, hopefully with as many women runners as men.

If you intend to run, please can you add your name to the “event planner” section of the Serpentine website as this will help me with race preparation.

Volunteers needed - for the race to take place, I will need 8 course marshals plus 4 people to help at the finish recording the runners’ numbers. No previous experience is necessary. If you are injured or don't want to run but also don't want to miss any of the action, please consider coming along to volunteer. Friends / partners or other family members are also very welcome as helpers! Please can you email me on if you are able to volunteer.

Finally, if you’re running, please remember to wear your Serpentine top.

Thank you in anticipation of your support,

Malcolm French –
