Green Belt Relay - registration now open

The Green Belt Relay, returns on the weekend of 16th & 17th May 2015. 44 places have now been filled but please sign up to the waiting list if you'd like to take part!

'GBR' is a two day, multi-stage, multi-terrain relay around London's Green Belt countryside and surrounding towns. The route is divided into 22 sections (between 6.0 and 13.3 miles), and teams consist of 11 runners. This means that runners run twice, once on each day of the race. This is pretty tough as you are racing two days in a row. Newcomers are very welcome and may be surprised at how much wonderful, scenic running there is so close to London. We all travel around the course in a few minibuses, supporting other runners as we go. On Saturday night we'll stay at a hotel near the half-way point. You need to be available for the whole weekend.

More information about the race on www.greenbeltrelay.org.uk or email greenbeltrelay@serpentine.org.uk

Entry is open to all Serpies but please remember that you must be capable of running around 20 miles in total, across two days at 10min/mile pace or faster.

Serpentine have entered four teams again this year: men, women, and two mixed teams. We need drivers and navigators for each mini-bus so please tick the box(es) if you're able to help. You need to be at least 25 years old to be a driver for us.

The fee payable now (£36) is non-refundable and includes the cost of transport and the evening buffet meal on Saturday. Other expenses, including the cost of hotel on Saturday (£32 B&B per person sharing a twin room) need to be paid for on the day.

44 places have been taken so a waiting list is now in operatation. I strongly recommend you sign onto it if you register too late to get a guaranteed place, since in past years it's been common for everyone on the list to get a place on a team due to drop-outs!

Those who drive a minibus for us on the weekend will have their transport fee (£15) refunded in full as a gesture of thanks by the club.
