Results from ERRA National Road Relays

Our women's 6-stage A team finished 12th in Sutton Park yesterday at the national road relays, with the B team in 25th. The men's 12-stage equalled their best-ever result finishing in 15th, with the B team in 53rd.

Well done to Vic Crawford and Nick Barberis for getting strong teams out to represent the club at the sharp end of domestic competition.

We had some strong, consistent performances across the teams although it's hard to compare times with earlier years as the course seems to have been somewhat shorter this year! 15th for the men is equal their best (from 2012) and 12th for the women is close to their best (10th, also from 2012). There were quite a few new faces in the teams as well which is very encouraging.

An accident on the way to Euston meant our women's teams were a member short so our C team didn't complete all 6 stages and our men's B team suffered some logistical confusion which pushed them well down the results compared to normal.

We now look forward to the track and field season and the first Southern Athletics League meeting on 19th April. Contact Nick Barberis or Lisa Pettit if you'd like to take part or want to know more.
