Southern Athletics League - 21st May at Croydon

Click above for information on how to compete and help with match organisation.

The second Southern Athletics League fixture will be held at Croydon Arena on Saturday 21st May (www.runtrackdir.com/details.asp?track=london-cr).

This is the new track and field league for clubs in the Southern region who wish to compete with joint (male & female) teams. Pam Rutherford (pamelarutherford215@hotmail.com) for women and me, Nick Barberis, (nicola.barberis@gmail.com) for men are putting together the team and if you are keen on participating just drop us an email and let us know.

Events for this fixture are listed below and a timetable is available at this website http://www.southernathletics.org.uk/assets/files/SALtimetable.pdf

In order to score as many points as possible we need two athletes per event (and four for the relays). Besides, anybody can compete as a non-scoring athlete in any event (although there is a limit of 1 athlete per club in field events).

If you have never taken part to this, it is a very enjoyable way of spending a sunny Saturday afternoon, it is good fun to participate and to cheer uon your teammates and if you are brave enough and want to test how low you can go with your age grade in some event you have never tried before, there will be a chance for that too!

We also need volunteers to help organise the competition, viz, 5 field judges, 2 timekeepers and 2 track judges.

Any questions, just let me know.
