Southern cross country champs: Race day details

Details for all those who have pre-entered the Southern cross country champs and for those who want to come and support the club.

Race day details for runners

Entries have CLOSED and there is no race number swapping nor running without a number. Not sure if you did enter? Please email me and I'll confirm.

For those of you who have pre-entered, the race details are:
8km for women, starting at 2:05pm
15km for men, starting at 2:50pm

I will be by the northern side of the athletics track from 12:45pm with the numbers and please get there at least 40 minutes before your start time to collect your race number and chip from me. You must run in a Serpentine Running Club top to score.

Both races will start promptly and before other races on the programme have finished. Please also note that you will need to be checked by SEAA Officials for your number, before the start line which is down by the Lido so don't leave it to the last-minute to get there.

Chip timing will be used and you must make sure you return your chip, even if you don't finish the race or the club will be fined £8 per missing chip.

Female and male changing, showers, etc will be available at the Lido (The organisers have asked us to emphasise the track can't be used), although I would advise arriving changed ready to race.

Can't race?

If you can't race because of injury or illness, we understand, but please let me know BEFORE the race. Just not showing up is letting down your team mates, captains and the club which has paid a lot of money in race fees.

Travel to the race

I would advise you to use public transport. "Residents Only" parking restrictions apply in all surrounding streets until 1.30pm and there will be a lot of clubs travelling to the area.

The nearest tube stations are Kentish Town and Belsize Park which are 15 - 20 mins walk. Gospel Oak & Hampstead Heath Overground stations are closer and approx 5 - 7 minutes walk away. Please check www.tfl.gov.uk for engineering work on this weekend and alternative journey options.

After pub - The Roebuck

And not forgetting the pub! After the men's race has finished, we'll head to The Roebuck, 15 Pond Street Hampstead, NW3 2PN (opposite the Royal Free hospital) for a drink or several. The pub also serves food for those who want something to eat. Please join us.
Any questions, please email me directly.
Thanks very much
