16th place for the ladies A team at the National Road Relays

Yesterday 3 ladies teams travelled to Sutton Coldfield for the 2015 Autumn National Road Relays.

With perfect running conditions, 85 teams started and after a close first leg between the top ladies, Helen Palmer came in for the A team in 12th place in a time of 15:04 – the fastest Serpie time of the day. This time gives Helen the 2nd fastest Serpie time ever over the short course at Sutton Park. Helen has had a brilliant autumn road relays season, also clocking the joint second fastest Serpie ladies time ever at the Southerns.

From 12th place, our A team had a competitive race with positions changing throughout each leg, however Katie Williams, Sarah Pemberton and Lauren Roe remained consistent and strong finishing in an awesome 16th place.

The B and C teams also had strong runs finishing in 43rd and 54th place out of 67 complete teams.

Than you to all of the ladies who signed up and competed in the 2015 Autumn Road Relays and for making them a successful and fun 2 days. We now look forward to the XC season before the 6 stage relays in the Spring.
