Coastal Trail Marathon - Portland (24 Jan 2009)

Lovely bright, sunny conditions. Tough but very scenic course around Portland Isle, up and down some nice steep hills, through some rocks, past Portland Bill lighthouse, along some cliffs and then over about 1½ miles of Chesil Beach – twice. Not one for a pb, and a tad on the expensive side at £45, but well organised and a good challenge – and they did provide hot food and showers in the new 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy afterwards. Didn’t spot Ben Ainslie though…
