Paddock Wood Half Marathon 2007-04-01
What a lovely sunny day yesterday in Kent for a half marathon. For only £11 (great value for money) you could be part of it. Very well organised with lots of water and sponge stations and many helpful marshalls, the 13.1 miles didn't feel too bad after all. And after crossing the finish line there was a top notch momento waiting for you. And I don't mean a boring mug or an oversized t-shirt. In fact it looks a bit like the crystal trophy that Simon Barrett once got for winning a half marathon.
I spotted quite a few Serpies out there. Well done to everyone taking part.
Special congratulations go to Cathrine Wilding who won the ladies race and to Greg Stevens who placed first in his age group.
With 4 team members to score the men's team came a respectable 12 out of 36 teams and the ladies' team managed 5th place out of 22.
Well done everyone and happy running.
