Snowdonia Marathon (27 Oct 2007)

Fantastic scenery when weather permits. Three major climbs on the course, with total ascent c.750 metres. Road throughout apart from grass/stony track between miles 23 and 24 over a pass at 365 metres. First 5 miles traffic-free, then runners generally managed to get priority over the fairly light traffic to follow the shortest route through the bends.

Snowdonia Marathon (25 Oct 2008)

The Met office described the weather as:

"Cloudy with rain, heavy and prolonged and accompanied by severe gale south to southwesterly winds. Hill fog will be widespread"

In layman's terms "Shite!".
