Great Western Runners Towpath 5k (22 Aug 2008)

A series of evening races (4x10k and 1x5k) taking place over 5 Fridays in Bristol each year from June to August. With a simple formula - adhered to with uncompromising efficiency by Great Western Runners - the follows an out-and-back course on mixed terrain, taking runners out on the Avon gorge towpath and under Brunel's spectacular Suspension Bridge, before delivering them back to Race HQ (local pub) for a well deserved shandy or two. Deservedly popular, and limited to only 300 runners by nature of the course, the series sells out quickly (usually by April each year).
